- Nutrition

- Resilience, which includes: Stress management, Sleep optimization

If you already work with a Registered Dietitian (RD), that's great.

You and I can work together to make their recommendations happen (See the coaching section)

My aim is to empower you to become a confident consumer of medical information. We will discuss how to interpret the latest medical research, along with the risk-benefits of various options. In addition, we may discuss how to calculate and interpret your cardiovascular risk /heart-age, and how to discuss about risks and benefits with your providers.

Changing behaviors is difficult for most of us. There is no ‘magic pill’. Life is hectic. We all need an open ear, support and guidance. Together, we will design new habits and ways for you to stay on track.

I approach coaching with a focus on your life and on you, as a whole person.

We will explore together how to make change happen. Most of the time, change happens in time, so we will likely go in small steps, step by step. Or, whatever speed fits you best. The purpose is to re-design your habits to lead to a healthier, flourishing life.

I will listen to understand your specific situation. Together we will discuss the pros and cons of various choices, as they apply to you. Together we will discuss goals and we will make a plan to adopt the lifestyle changes that fit you and your life. You will experiment with implementing your goals and we’ll follow up to refine and move toward progress.

In our work, I will be using evidence-based strategies, combining Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology strategies or other methods.

My role is to support you in your journey for a better health.

 

Going for a Walk

For most of us, change is not easy. Just knowing facts is not enough. There are no quick fixes. Change is a process, sometimes slow, sometimes (most of the times) with ups and downs. It is consistency that builds a new habit. Re-patterning our habits requires patience, skills,  focus and support. The current healthcare system does not have the ability to provide such services. I enjoy working with people. I take time to listen, connect and learn about people's lives. It's where science, philosophy and psychology meet, where the seeds of change start germinating.

My long experience in teaching translates well into public speaking. I enjoy connecting with a wide range of audiences. I am available for small-group and large-group presentations on cardiovascular health, lifestyle medicine and on how to understand the scientific evidence.
